My Captain Is Jesus Christ

I was sailing on a boat
without a port to which to dock
then suddenly there came upon it a storm
and the boat was going to sink
the winds kept blowing harder
each time more and more
my soul experienced great anguish
in midst of the terrible storm

I have done all of the efforts
that any human being can do
I thought that with all my effort
I could find inner peace
I strove and struggled and I toiled
but I couldn’t find victory

Then suddenly I heard a voice
that spoke to my heart and soul
And it said: “Do not fear,
It is I, Jesus Christ, your Savior and Lord”

My captain, Jesus Christ
My captain is Jesus Christ
I know that I’m not going to sink
because my captain is Jesus Christ

The boat of which I speak of
is this world full of suffering
Many of those who are on board this boat
they sail about aimlessly
Let’s all sail, with Jesus Christ
He is our Savior and Lord
He died for you, He died for me
And one day we will see Him face to face
