The message of this world is
"Do all you can for yourself
it doesn't matter what God says
let's just put Him on a shelf"
but I want everybody to see
that's not how it should be
and I pray that through my life they find
it's best to follow thee

Lord, I'll wait for you,
though this world tries to rush me on.

doing things your way is never wrong.
So then I'll fill my time,
with what you'd have me to do

Sometimes it's hard to wait,
but over and over I've seen
if I take things into my hands
they will never truly succeed
but if I'm willing to step aside
and let you have control
I'll see again, your way is best
'cause you're the keeper of my soul

There are others watching you
to see what you will do,

Just be a light so others
will walk in the narrow path
